—  Risa Perez and Jamie Radermacher have transferred to join the Oregon State gymnastics program, head coach Tanya Chaplin has announced.

“We want to welcome Risa and Jamie to Oregon State University,” Chaplin said. “The passion and enthusiasm that both of these young women have shown for the sport, program and university has been evident from the start of the recruiting process. I have no doubt that our fans will enjoy watching them compete this season.”

Perez, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev., performed on three events – uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise – for Arizona State for the past two seasons. In 2014, Perez was named as the team’s MVP posting career-highs on all three events. She scored a personal-best 9.875 on beam three times and added highs of 9.875 on floor twice. She added a career-best of 9.80 on bars at Pac-12 Championships.

“I’m excited for the season with my new Beaver family,” Perez said. “I’ve competed in Gill before and I can’t wait to do it as an OSU gymnast. I love the campus and love these coaches. When I decided to transfer, I talked to Dani (Dessaints), who I was a teammate with growing up, and her descriptions of OSU made the decision an easy one for me. I couldn’t be happier.”

Radermacher, a junior from Tualatin, Ore., returns to her home state after spending three years at Eastern Michigan. She competed for the Eagles five times as a freshman tallying a career-best 9.825 on the beam and personal-bests of 9.775 on vault and floor. She suffered a season-ending injury prior to her sophomore season, missing 2013, and then spent the 2014 season as a student coach.

“I grew up watching the Beavers and always knew this is where I wanted to be,” Radermacher said. “This summer I was back home training and contacted Tanya (Chaplin) and I was ecstatic when she got back to me and said there was spot on the team for me. I couldn’t be any more thankful for this opportunity.”
