Benton County Fatal Crash West of Corvallis
(August 12, 2017, 12:27 pm) SALEM, Ore.

On Friday at 12:31 pm, Benton County Deputies were dispatched to a head-on collision on Walnut Boulevard, just west of Corvallis City limits.

The driver of a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was northbound on Walnut Boulevard at 5500 NW when it veered across the center line and struck a 2010 Ford Escape that was traveling southbound. The driver of the Pontiac, Bradford J Hickswa, 28 years old, of Corvallis was taken by Corvallis Fire Department Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the Ford, Douglas Lee Stewart, 75 years old, of Philomath died of his injuries at Good Samaritan.

UPDATE: The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Shiloh F Ssundstom, age 34, of Deadwood, Oregon. The driver and vehicle involved in the incident has been located and detectives from the OSP Criminal Investigations Division are on-scene of that driver's residence continuing the investigation.

Corvallis Police Investigate Suspicious Death

UPDATE: Corvallis Police have positively identified the victim in the Alan B. Berg Park homicide as 42 year old Kimberly Theresa Hakes of Corvallis. Hakes was killed sometime before 10:30am in the park where she was camping.

The Oregon State softball team has added a pair of transfer catchers to its 2015 roster, head coach Laura Berg announced Thursday.

Corvallis Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing Young Girl
(October 1, 2014, 3:17 pm) CORVALLIS, Ore. According to investigators, the abuse had been going on over the course of over a month, and victim knew Leffler.

Corvallis police have arrested a man on multiple sex crimes for sexually abusing a female under the age of 12.

Corvallis Man Arrested for Attempted ATM Robbery
(October 1, 2014, 11:42 am) CORVALLIS, Ore. Corvallis police say at 4:45 a.m., the victim was approached by Corvallis resident Kevin Steinberger who asked him for some money.

A Corvallis man is lucky not to have sustained more serious injuries after another man tried to rob him after he took money out of a Bank of America ATM machine Wednesday morning.

(September 29, 2014, 6:03 am) CORVALLIS, Ore. During an interview with Starr's girlfriend, investigators learned there had been a domestic assault the same night as the robbery.

Corvallis Police Department investigators arrested 35-year-old Kenneth Starr of Corvallis in connection with a September 23 armed robbery at Papa Murphy's on NW Circle Blvd.

Beavers Women's Basketball Tip-Off Dinner Set for Oct. 14
(September 24, 2014, 3:27 pm) CORVALLIS, Ore. Oregon State, which finished the season ranked 25th in the nation, is coming off a record-setting season in 2013-14.

Head Coach Scott Rueck, his staff and the team invite fans of the Oregon State women’s basketball program to the club level at Reser Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 14 for the annual Women’s Basketball Tip-Off Dinner.

Harris Ross to Join Oregon State Football Team in January
(September 24, 2014, 4:15 am) CORVALLIS, Ore. Undefeated Oregon State opens Pac-12 Conference play this Saturday at USC at 7:36 p.m. in a game being televised by ESPN.

Oregon State University head football coach Mike Riley announced Tuesday that running back Harris Ross has signed a financial aid agreement to attend OSU starting in January and will have five years to complete four seasons of playing eligibility.
