A citizen driving on Nevada Street NE around 6:15 p.m., saw a body off the side of the road and called police.
(SALEM, Ore. ) — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, along with the state Medical Examiner and the Marion County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the discovery of a dead body found Friday evening in rural northeast Salem.
A Marion County Sheriff’s spokesman says a citizen driving on Nevada Street NE around 6:15 p.m., saw a body off the side of the road and called police. Deputies and fire personnel arrived, and verified that there was a body.
The spokesman said the body was in a state of decomposition that authorities were not able to tell if the body was that of a male or female, and if the person died of natural causes or if foul play was involved.
