— On Tuesday Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were made aware of a large "Rave" style party being held at 980 Silver Falls Drive NE, near Silverton in rural Marion County.

The party titled "The Boombox in da Boondox" is set to play music throughout the night and provide food vendors, and others who are performing things like glass blowing.

After learning of the gathering, the Code Enforcement Unit set out to ensure the organizers, listed in court documents as Justin Down, Robert Desantis Jr., and Desantis Family Farms, had made the appropriate arrangements with the County Fire Marshal and others to obtain the applicable permits and services needed for this type of gathering.

When the Sheriff's Office learned the event was being held with no permits and would feature activities requiring open fire like the glass blowing, deputies obtained an injunction barring the event from taking place.

A court date has been set for the 13th of this mouth.

The Sheriff’s Office says it is working with the Oregon State Police, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the State Fire Marshalls Office and the land owners to place signs and barricades blocking access to the property.

Deputies will be on hand and in the area patrolling the area.
