The three students, ranging in age from 5 to 7
(SALEM, Ore) — Today at about 3:15 pm, three students walking home from Four Corners Elementary, in south east Salem, banded together and thwarted an attempted abduction.
The three students, ranging in age from 5 to 7, were approached by a male asking for Girl Scout Cookies.
When the male attempted to grab one of the children, the oldest stepped in and slapped the wrist of the male allowing the victim to escape.
The children ran away and the male chased after them, a witness working in the area called to the man, which startled the suspect causing him to run back to his vehicle and speed away.
The suspect is described as a thin, black male adult, 20 to 30 years old, with short curly hair, no facial hair and a nose piercing.
He was wearing long pants, Adidas shoes and a black sweatshirt. The male had some type of distinct marking on either his face or neck.
The mark is described as a tattoo or possibly a birthmark shaped like a bird or skull.
His vehicle is described as a charcoal, two door, gray, possibly 2009, all stock, Acura, with tinted windows, a green triangle hanging from the rear view mirror and cigarettes were seen in the center console.
The Sheriff's Office is seeking any information regarding this suspect. If you see this person or know of his whereabouts please dial 911 immediately, you can remain anonymous.
