Fatal Crash on McKay Road Near St. Paul
(ST. PAUL, Ore) — Last night at about 9:45 p.m., three vehicles collided on McKay Road NE near Arbor Grove Road NE, between St. Paul and Donald.
Investigators believe that a 1994, Ford Explorer being driven by Thomas Michael Wood, age 60, left its lane of travel side swiping a 2005, Chevrolet Avalanche, then running head-on into another vehicle.
The driver of the side swiped vehicle was not injured and the vehicle sustained minor damage.
The second vehicle a 2013, Nissan Rogue driven by Regina Farah, age 43, sustained heavy damage.
Both Mr. Wood and Ms. Farah were taken to OHSU with life threatening injuries.
Tragically Ms. Farah succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The investigation as to why Mr. Wood left his lane of travel is still on-going.
However deputies described the area as being blanketed in thick fog making visibility nearly zero.
