The bus was transporting the cross country ski team
(BEND, Ore) — Today at approximately 9:50 A.M., Oregon State Police troopers responded to a report of a school bus that had lost control, slid off the road and rolled-over at milepost 15.5 on Century Drive west of Bend.
Troopers, assisted by the United States Forest Service and Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, learned the bus slid through the eastbound lane and off the embankment before rolling over twice and coming to rest against some trees about 50 feet away from the road.
The bus was occupied by six students plus the driver, identified as Russell Johnson, 55, of Prineville.
One of the students received a minor injury and was transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment.
The school bus was traveling from Prineville to the Mount Bachelor area transporting the cross country ski team.
