Pedestrian Dead After Traffic Crash

(SALEM, Ore) — To night about 10:00 PM a man was killed when he walked into traffic on Silverton Road in Salem.

We don't know much at this time, but are in the process of following up with Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

It appears at this time the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

We are told by witnesses that after buying a pack of cigarettes at the Plaid Pantry in the 4600 block of Silverton, the victim walked into traffic and was struck.

Witnesses said he was staggering and appeared to be under the influence of something.
