(SALEM, Ore) — This morning at about 8:30 a.m., two 4th grade students walking to school at nearby Auburn Elementary, were approached by a male in a vehicle.
This occurred at the intersection of Greencrest St NE and Auburn Road NE, in Salem.
As the girls prepared to cross the street at a cross walk, the male pulled up next to the girls and rolled down his window.
The suspect asked the girls, "Can you girls help me with something?"
According to the victims the male had his hands on his unexposed genitals when talking to the girls.
The girls told the male, "No," and ran straight to school where they reported the incident to school officials.
The male is described as white, in his thirties, wearing dark glasses, a green bandanna over his face, a plain green shirt and dark pants.
His truck is described as a loud, green, full size, extra cab truck with large wheels and tires.
The vehicle was last seen speeding away on Greencrest Street NE.

The Sheriff's Office wants to remind parents and students to:
Never talk to a stranger.
Never let a stranger get too close, whether he or she is in a car or walking.
Never accept candy, a present, a ride, or anything else from a stranger.
Never tell a stranger your name or address.
Always try to walk with a friend or a grown-up.
Always stick to the same safe route in traveling to and from school or a friend's house.
Always tell an adult if a stranger has tried to contact you
