— Early Sunday morning, deputies responded to a roll-over crash on Highway 26 where at least one person was ejected and two others fled the scene.

They were eventually found and the driver is facing charges.

On Sunday, October 12, 2014, at about 1:17 a.m., Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a roll-over crash on Highway 26 near NW Fisher Road.

An ambulance came across the crash and reported that one person had been ejected and was being treated on scene.

The driver and another passenger fled the scene on foot.

Deputies arrived and started searching the wooded area adjacent to the road for the two missing occupants.

They brought in a K9 team and eventually found the other passenger and the driver, 25-year-old Mario Morquecho of Seaside, at the bottom of a steep ravine.

They were both injured and unable to walk out on their own.

It took deputies and firefighters several hours to carry both parties about a half mile out of the woods to a waiting ambulance.

Both had non-life-threatening injuries.

Mr. Morquecho will face multiple charges when he is released from the hospital, including DUII, Felony Hit and Run, Assault, and Reckless Driving.
