Beige or tan, 1980's style single cab Toyota pickup with matching color canopy
(CAVE JUNCTION, Ore) — One year later, Oregon State Police is asking for the public's help to locate the vehicle and driver involved in the death of two men on October 30, 2013, who were reportedly struck by a vehicle on Highway 199 about two miles south of Cave Junction.
According to Sergeant Jeff Fitzgerald, on October 30, 2013 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a report was received that two people were struck by a vehicle in the 27000 block of Highway 199 near milepost 30 south of Cave Junction.
When emergency responders arrived, they confirmed two males were deceased and the involved vehicle and driver was not at the scene.
The victims were identified as Jarred Quinn Houston, age 21, from Cave Junction, and Robert Rob Calvin, age 41, from Cave Junction.
The men were reportedly involved in a dispute that turned physical in the southbound lane of travel where they were struck by the suspect vehicle that left the scene southbound without stopping.
The suspect vehicle was described as light colored, possibly beige or tan, 1980's style single cab Toyota pickup with matching color canopy and front end damage.
OSP Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Services Division have invested hundreds of hours into the ongoing investigation.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered through the Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon program for information that leads to an arrest and the filing of charges.
In addition, the families were offering a reward of up to $5,000 to help solve this case.
