Fatal Crash in North Marion County

The Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on French Prairie Rd NE, north of St. Louis Rd NE at 5:20 pm, today. Sheriff's deputies arrived to find two vehicles involved.

— The Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on French Prairie Rd NE, north of St. Louis Rd NE at 5:20 pm, today.

Sheriff's deputies arrived to find two vehicles involved.

Deputy Casey Burhnam's, MCSO Traffic Safety Team, investigation revealed a vehicle rearended a tractor pulling a trailer.

Both vehicles were traveling south on French Prairie Rd NE.

The driver of the tractor, 53 year old Scott Miller, died at the scene due to his injuries from the crash.

Another person was transported to the hospital, by ambulance, with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Medical Examiner and a Deputy District Attorney also responded to the scene.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Sgt. David Leday, Keizer Police Department, and members of the Woodburn Fire Department and Woodburn Ambulance.

French Prairie Rd NE was closed for several hours, however is open to all traffic at this time.
