Pedestrian Involved Traffic Crash

— The Oregon State Police are continuing their investigation into Monday afternoon's pedestrian-involved collision that occurred on Highway 99E near Hayesville Drive NE just north of Salem.

The pedestrian received minor injury and no citations have been issued at this time.

On October 20, 2014 at approximately 1:48 p.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Myung Lee, age 72, from Keizer, exited Roth's IGA parking lot into the center turn lane to proceed south on Highway 99E.

As the Jeep moved into the southbound lane it collided with a pedestrian who was in the traffic lane.

The pedestrian, Daniel Nelson, age 63, from Salem, was transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The southbound lanes were blocked about 30 minutes until Nelson was transported from the scene.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Marion County Sheriff's Office, local fire/ems, and ODOT.

Senior Trooper Frank Hagen is the lead investigator.
