The Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Detail, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve a homicide that occurred in the Woodstock Neighborhood of Southeast Portland.
(PORTLAND, Ore) — The Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Detail, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve a homicide that occurred in the Woodstock Neighborhood of Southeast Portland.
On Tuesday September 30, 2014, at 11:08 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 6100 block of Southeast 52nd Avenue.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, 30-year-old Michael William Olson, deceased after suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Homicide investigators believe Olson was killed in the course of a robbery.
An eyewitness described the suspect as possibly being a light-skinned African American or Hispanic male.
A forensic sketch of the suspect is being released to the public to aid in the investigation.
Homicide investigators are continuing to follow leads and believe there may be several people with information about the shooting.
Witnesses may contact the investigators directly or, to remain anonymous, they may provide information through Crime Stoppers of Oregon.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
