Salem Housing Authority Awarded Money For Additional HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Vouchers

The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program combines rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services

— The Salem Housing Authority was recently awarded $117,516 for 25 additional HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing vouchers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The housing vouchers will be issued to veterans identified in Salem and administered in partnership with the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center/Salem Community-Based Outpatient Clinic between Oct. 2014 and Oct. 2015.

The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program combines rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

"The Salem Housing Authority is committed to serving veterans in need. With these additional 25 rental vouchers, Salem will have a total of 63 vouchers for veterans allowing SHA to provide greater housing stability, security, and safety for Salem veterans," said Salem Housing Authority Administrator, Andrew Wilch.
