Suspect Sought in SE Portland Homicide Tuesday Night
30-year-old Michael William Olson who lived in the area died after suffering a fatal gunshot wound.
(PORTLAND, Ore. ) — The Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Unit, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve a homicide that occurred in the Woodstock Neighborhood of Southeast Portland.
On Tuesday September 30, at 11:08 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 6100 block of Southeast 52nd Avenue.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, 30-year-old Michael William Olson, deceased after suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Olson resided in the Woodstock Neighborhood.
Homicide investigators believe Olson was killed in the course of a robbery.
An eyewitness described the suspect as possibly being a light-skinned African American or Hispanic male.
Homicide investigators are continuing to follow leads this morning and believe there may be several people with information about the shooting.
This is the 19th homicide in Portland in 2014.
