(MEDFORD, Ore) — An Oregon State Police traffic stop early Saturday morning near Medford led to the arrest of two Washington men after the trooper discovered approximately 68 pounds of marijuana in their rented vehicle. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.
Last Saturday at approximately 12:53 a.m., an OSP trooper stopped a rented 2014 Hyundai Sonata displaying California license plates for a speeding violation on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 29.
The trooper identified the two occupants as driver Michael Edward Green, age 46, and passenger Shaun Booth, age 41, both from Buckley, Washington.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led the trooper to discover approximately 68 pounds of marijuana concealed inside the vehicle.
In addition, approximately 10 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms was also found.
Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $125,000.
Both men was arrested without incident and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana, and Unlawful Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms.
