Update: Confirmed Fatality in Single Vehicle v. Pedestrian Accident in Salem
Salem Police confirm one man is deceased
(SALEM, Ore.) — The Salem Police Department is on scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident on Center St NE at Illinois St NE involving a single vehicle v. pedestrian.
Sgt. Van Meter of the Salem Police Department has confirmed one male fatality in the accident.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with police.
Center St NE will be closed from Vinyard St NE to Hawthorne Ave NE for the next 3 hours while the Traffic Control Unit of the Salem Police Department investigates the incident
