Fatal Crash On Portland Road North of Salem

(SALEM, Ore) — UPDATE: The Oregon State Police has confirmed there are five victims in this crash. They tell Salem News Journal that the victims are all from one vehicle.

Once the next of kin notifications are completed we anticipate OSP will release more information.

Portland Road is now blocked for the investigation into the fatal crash that happened about 4:30 today, says Oregon State Police.  

OSP has verified that this is a multi fatality crash and the investigation will have the road closed for several hours.

The crash was a head on type collision between an SUV and a sedan at Nevada Street.

 ODOT has placed road blocks at Chemawa Road on the South and Perkins Street on the North, but you are still advised to avoid the area.
