(TIGARD, Ore. ) — Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue firefighters were dispatched to an original report of a grass fire on 14500 block of SW 148th Place in Tigard on Thursday.
On arrival, however, crews found a different situation with the entire deck and upper story of the residence fully involved with fire and extending into the attic.
Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines to attack the fire, and had it under control in approximately 25 minutes.
The original 9-1-1 call came from a neighbor who indicated it was grass fire, but by the time he returned to the site of the fire it had grown significantly and involved the home.
As firefighters pulled hose lines to the back of the structure, they noticed the majority of the back lawn had been scorched.
A fire investigator found the fire had started on the exterior of the building, and then moved to the interior. The exact fire cause is yet to be determined.
No injuries were reported.
