— Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Lebanon, Oregon man after he allegedly burglarized a home while a family of four slept Wednesday night.

Linn County Undersheriff Jim Yon says deputies were called to the residence just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning, and learned that while the family -- the victim, his wife, and two daughters ages 10 and 14 slept -- the suspect entered most of the rooms of the home and took various items.

Approximately $2,700 worth of hunting gear was taken from the home, Yon said.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, the Lebanon Police Department responded to a disturbance at Home Town Furniture, and learned the suspect in this case had contacted a family member of the victim for assistance in disposing of the property he claimed to have had for some time.

The family member was aware of the missing property, became suspicious, and he contacted the victim who identified the property and then confronted the suspect.

Deputies arrived a short time later and arrested 21-year-old Cody Lee of Lebanon on Burglary in the First degree, and Theft in the First degree.

He was lodged at the Linn County Jail.
