(SALEM, Ore. ) — Marion County Dog Services will host a Dog License Amnesty event offering amnesty on late fees and license violations, as well as a low cost vaccination clinic.
The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Santana Village Park located at 850 Shawnee Drive SE, Salem.
Free rabies vaccinations will be offered to the first 250 who also purchase a second preventative vaccine.
Rabies vaccinations without a second vaccine are $10 and other low cost vaccinations being offered are DHPP $10, Bordetella $10, and Lepto $10.
Licenses are $17 a year for neutered or spayed dogs, and $32 for unaltered dogs. The license fee for spayed or neutered dogs owned by seniors 65 or older is $5.
Proof of neutering or spaying must be provided to receive the reduced fee or senior discount. Multi-year licenses are also available. Please bring a check or exact change.
All dogs must be on leashes or in carriers.
As required by law, all owners and keepers of dogs in Marion County must license each dog when it reaches six months of age.
Licenses are also required within 30 days of becoming a dog owner or moving into Marion County.
Santiam Equine Veterinary Clinic is partnering with Marion County Dog Services to provide low-cost vaccinations for dogs.
