Marion County Seeks Public Imput on Proposed Amendments to Noise Ordinance

The public is invited to provide verbal comments at this meeting and written comments will be accepted until 4:00 p.m., September 16.

— The Marion County Board of Commissioners will consider additional amendments to the county noise ordinance at their regular Board Session on Wednesday, September 17.

The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. and will be held in the Senator Hearing Room at Courthouse Square located at 555 Court Street NE, Salem.

In July, the board amended the noise ordinance to remove the exemption for commercial uses inside the Salem urban growth boundary to address noise, loud music played at night, made in conjunction with permitted commercial uses.

The proposed amendments will expand the exemption outside the urban growth boundary.

The public is invited to provide verbal comments at this meeting and written comments will be accepted until 4:00 p.m., September 16, and may be submitted to:
