Police Investigating Stabbing in Northeast Salem

— Salem police are investigating a stabbing that occurred around 10:00 p.m. Thursday night in northeast Salem.

Salem News Journal was on scene, as a male victim, who had been stabbed in the chest, near his heart, at 2605 Maple Street NE, was rushed to Salem Hospital by ambulance.

The victim’s condition is not known at this time.

One person was taken into custody by Salem police near the intersection of Broadway Street NE, and Tryon Street NE.

Police were able to locate, and tape-off two knives, where the suspect was taken into custody.
