Portland Police Investigating Sexual Assault in Lents Park

Several officers arrived in the area and located the victim who told police she was walking when she was struck on the head by the suspect then sexually assaulted.

— Police in Portland are searching for a suspect in connection with a reported sexual assault in Lents Park.

Portland police say on Monday at 11:52 p.m., east precinct officers responded to Lents Park, located at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard, on the report of a sexual assault. 

Several officers arrived in the area and located the 24-year-old female victim who told police she was walking in the neighborhood when she was struck on the head by the suspect then sexually assaulted in the southeast area of the park, near the basketball courts. 

The victim described the suspect to officers as an African American male, 30 to 49 years old, 6'1“, 170 to 180 pounds, "sunken" hazel to gold-colored eyes, wearing a red FUBU hooded sweatshirt, old white ragged shoes without laces, and that he was armed with a small bat and had a gun in his waistband. 

The victim told officers that she may have seen the suspect in Lents Park in the past but could not be sure. 

Portland Police Sex Crimes Unit Detectives are in contact with the victim and are investigating the case.
