Two Arrested in String of Vehicle Thefts in Brownsville

Deputies found stolen property that included a handgun, Garmin GPS, I-Pods, phone charges, and garage door openers.

— Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men on Sunday in connection with a string on thefts from vehicles in the Brownsville area.

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley says the case came to an end when a victim saw his stolen property in the possession of one of the suspects and called police.

Deputies found stolen property that included a handgun, Garmin GPS, I-Pods, phone charges, and garage door openers. The majority of vehicles were entered through their unlocked doors, Riley said.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Dakota Michael Landi from Brownsville, on seven counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Identity Theft, Theft in the First Degree, Theft in the Second Degree and Possession of Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.

The investigation also led deputies to 19-year-old Alexander William Adams from Brownsville. Adams was arrested for six counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance - Marijuana, and Possession of Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.

The majority of vehicles were entered through their unlocked doors. Sheriff Riley would like to remind citizens to always lock their doors.
