Scoggins Creek Wildfire to be Fully Contained Tonight
(September 23, 2014, 9:45 am) FOREST GROVE, Ore. The Scoggins Valley Park at Hagg Lake will reopen to the public on Wednesday (dawn-dusk) except for Boat Ramp C, which will remain closed to support fire fighting efforts.

The Washington County Sheriff's office will lift all evacuation orders Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

36 Pit Fire Crosses South Fork of Clackamas River; 45 Percent Contained
(September 21, 2014, 1:21 pm) ESTACADA, Ore. On Sunday, the priority is to halt the progression of the fire to the west.

On Saturday as predicted, the 36 Pit Fire area was impacted with unfavorable firefighting weather. Firefighters were faced with a major wind event of high winds from the east gusting to 40 mph. Dry relative humidity and temperatures in the mid-80s also accompanied the winds.

(September 17, 2014, 6:00 am) ESTACADA, Ore. Please be sure to bring food, medications, medical records, a pet carrier and identification information for any animals, livestock or pet that you are transporting.

Any resident or homeowner who receives an evacuation notice due to the Pit 36 wildfire should follow all directions from officials, and if possible, move their animals and livestock to a safer location as well.

(September 10, 2014, 12:25 pm) COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. Resources on the fire include 29 hand crews, 27 engines, 15 water tenders, one bull dozer and 9 helicopters.

(September 9, 2014, 7:50 pm) LEBANON, Ore. The fire occurred in a harvested rye grass field that was being flail chopped when the chopper struck a rock which sparked and ignited the dry grass stubble.

Firefighters from the mid-Willamette Valley battled stiff winds as they fought a grass fire on Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Stoltz Hill Road and Vaughan Lane just outside of Lebanon.

Oregon Yellow Point Wildfire Update
(September 9, 2014, 12:07 pm) COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. The fire had minimal growth from yesterday and now stands at 785 acres, and is 25 percent contained.

Anticipating severe fire weather that is expected to arrive Wednesday and Thursday, firefighters continue to strengthen established hand lines around the Yellow Point Fire.
