Welfare Check Turns to Homicide Investigation

Shortly after Noon Saturday, Oct. 11 2014, concerned relatives stopped by 70 year-old Deanna L Strivahtis' home in the 2900 block of N.E. Division Street in Gresham. What they found caused them to call Gresham Police. Upon arrival Officers and Emergency Medical personnel determined she was deceased.

— Shortly after Noon Saturday, Oct. 11 2014, concerned relatives stopped by 70 year-old Deanna L Strivahtis' home in the 2900 block of N.E. Division Street in Gresham.

What they found caused them to call Gresham Police.

Upon arrival Officers and Emergency Medical personnel determined she was deceased.

Because of the suspicious nature of the death, detectives and the medical examiner were called out.

They determined it to be a homicide, and activated the East County Major Crimes Team, which is composed of detectives from Gresham Police, Troutdale Police, Fairview Police, Oregon State Police and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office as well as the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.  

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle that belonged to the victim a 1989 dark green Dodge Caravan.

It had extensive previous damage on the passenger side and had an Oregon license plate of WQS 804.

If the vehicle is spotted, do not attempt contact with the occupant or occupants and call 911 immediately.
