— Oregon State sophomore Devonte Small has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, the website announced Monday.

Small scored two goals over the weekend, helping the Beavers defeat a pair of undefeated opponents on their way to the Hensor/Zaher Nike Classic title. He opened the weekend by scoring less than two minutes into the Beavers’ matchup with Siena. His tally proved to be decisive, as Oregon State held on for the 1-0 victory.

The San Antonio native then proceeded to find the net again on Sunday, scoring in the 33rd minute to level the score. For his efforts, Small was named to the All-Tournament team. He currently has nine points this season on three goals and three assists.

Small has played in all six games this season, making five starts. He scored his first career goal against Milwaukee on Sept. 5, a shot that found the net from 30 yards out. Small has taken 11 shots this season, six of which have been on target.

With their pair of wins this weekend, the Beavers are now ranked No. 30 in the College Soccer News poll.
