(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) — Corban University men's golf freshman swinger Kade Crossland (Buhl, Idaho) continued his successful start to his rookie campaign by taking home the individual championship for the second-straight tournament while leading the team to strong showing at the Oregon Tech Invite with a second-place team finish.
With the team competing at the Running Y Resort, Crossland set a new school record while also tying another in the process of his nine-under par championship performance.
As a team, the Warriors finished with a three-round total of 893, showing consistent improvement in each round. After a first round total of 305, Corban notched marks of 295 and 293 to finish the tournament strong and move ahead of Oregon Tech and into second place.
The Concordia University men finished in first place at the tournament with a three-round total of 854.
Crossland was the only player in the tournament to register three rounds of sub-par scoring, notching his new school record for lowest three rounds ever at 207 (70, 67, 70).
In addition, his second round of 67 ties the school record for lowest single-round score. At nine-under par, he finished the tournament two strokes ahead of all other competitors in the triumph.
Senior David Patterson (Camas, Wash.) took 11th overall amongst the competitive field with a three-round total of 225 (76, 77, 72) to finish as Corban's second-best golfer for the tournament.
Sophomore Blake Netter (Canby, Ore.) also performed well, coming into the clubhouse tied for 12th with a tournament total of 226 (77, 75, 74).
Rounding out the Navy and Gold golfers was senior Thomas Graves (Lincoln City, Ore.) and freshman Jayce Boyd (Lebanon, Ore.), finishing tied for 27th and 32nd, respectively. Graves tallied a three-round score of 236 (82, 76, 78), while Boyd signed his scorecards with a tournament total of 244 (84, 83, 77).
Also competing for Corban as an individual, freshman Robert Galli (Grants Pass, Ore.) notched a solid performance to tie for 27th overall with Graves, scoring a three-round total of 236 (79, 77, 80).
Corban returns to action on Sunday and Monday at the Border War in Medford, Ore.
The tournament is set to take place at the Centennial Golf Club.
