Today at approximately 2:00 PM, Oregon State Police and emergency workers responded to report of a deceased female off highway 18 near the exit 25 overpass (Fort Hill). The female has been identified as Dayleen Kay Crowder (age 52) from Grand Ronde.
Preliminary information indicates that an OSP Trooper attempted to stop a white Ford Explorer traveling northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 250 for speeding.
UPDATE: The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Shiloh F Ssundstom, age 34, of Deadwood, Oregon. The driver and vehicle involved in the incident has been located and detectives from the OSP Criminal Investigations Division are on-scene of that driver's residence continuing the investigation.
Recently, the Oregon State Police has taken reports from people who have been scammed out of money by people posing as law enforcement officers on the telephone.
Initial investigation indicates a 2004 BMW sport utility vehicle driven by Adelina Teresa Barrera, age 80, from Tigard, was southbound on Interstate 5 when, for an unconfirmed reason, it traveled at a high rate of speed onto the shoulder though a grassy field and into a wooded area.
