Second Half Surge Helps Bearcats Rally Past Cal Lutheran
(September 21, 2014, 4:00 am) THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. For the second week in a row, the Bearcats shut out their opponents in the second half.

Willamette University trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half and trailed 24-21 at halftime, but the Bearcats rallied over the final 30 minutes to defeat California Lutheran, 42-24, on Saturday.

(September 20, 2014, 7:00 pm) WALLA WALLA, Wash. With the win, Willamette improves to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in Northwest Conference games.

After tying a 32-year-old single-game record for goals, Willamette University went just over 117 minutes without scoring a goal before coming through with the game-winner near the end of the second overtime in a 1-0 victory over Whitman College (Wash.) Saturday at the Whitman Athletic Fields.

Gas prices in Salem, and throughout Oregon continue to travel downward, but have risen to the third most expensive in the country once again.

Corban University Men to Play Oregon State Nov.18; Game to be on Pac-12 Networks
(September 18, 2014, 5:51 am) SALEM, Ore. Last season, the Warriors gave the Beavers all they could handle, leading 25-24 with just over five minutes remaining in the first half.

Corban University head men's basketball coach, Steve Masten, announced on Wednesday that the Warriors will make their first-ever appearance on the Pac-12 Network in a battle against NCAA Division 1 opponent, Oregon State University, on Nov. 18 in Corvallis, Ore., at 7:00 p.m.

Pioneers Blank Bearcats in NWC Opener, 2-0
(September 18, 2014, 4:00 am) PORTLAND, Ore. Willamette will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, against Whitman College (Wash.).

In the Northwest Conference opener Wednesday at Griswold Stadium, Willamette University could not overcome a pair of second half goals by Lewis & Clark College falling by the final score of 2-0.


Lindsey Compton earned a season-high 42 assists and also provided eight digs and two block assists.
Linfield Takes NWC Opener vs Willamette in Four Sets

(September 17, 2014, 3:00 pm) SALEM, Ore. In a very physical game that saw a rematch of the 2013 Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament championship game, the Cavaliers took advantage of their opportunities better than the Warriors.

(September 17, 2014, 12:03 pm) SALEM, Ore. 163 fallen career and volunteer firefighters will be honored, and the five additional names will be added bringing the total number of structural, wildland, and airport firefighters who have died in the line of duty to 168.

During a ceremony on Thursday in Salem, the names of five firefighters who gave their lives to protect Oregonians from various fires around the state will be added to the Oregon Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
