Accidental Fire Takes a Life

On November 13th, 2015 at about 2:40 am the Dallas Fire Department assisted by SW Polk Fire, were dispatched to the 4000 block of Van Well Rd on a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival they found a motor home fully engulfed in flames. The fire department took action and later determined that there was a deceased person inside.

This Past Summer Was a Busy Year for the Marine Patrol

The Polk County Marine Patrol finished up their seasonal program year at the end of September. This past summer was a busy year for the Marine Patrol Unit as the use of the Willamette River continues to increase yearly for both motorized and non-motorized activities. This year we saw a significant increase in our floating traffic from previous years due to the new launch ramps that opened up the previous year in Keizer and Independence.

Polk County Sheriff Seeks Help in Solving 1996 Cold Case Homicide
(September 11, 2014, 2:05 pm) DALLAS, Ore. Caucasian female, 45 years of age or older at the time of her disappearance, between 5'0 and 5'6.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office are requesting the public's help in identifying the skeletal remains of a female that was found in the hills overlooking the Mill Creek area of rural Polk County on September 1, 1996.
