Oregon State Police is continuing their investigation into Sunday evening's motorcycle-involved traffic crash on Interstate 5 south of Roseburg that resulted in the death of a female adult passenger and injuries to two adult male operators.

(September 21, 2014, 3:20 pm) ROSEBURG, Ore. This year, more than 100 deer have died in the Roseburg area with similar symptoms. Most of the deer were found in the Fisher Road area west of Roseburg or near Umpqua Community College.

Tests have confirmed that deer in the Roseburg area are dying from Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease, a disease that has not been seen in deer in this area of Oregon before.

(September 21, 2014, 1:21 pm) ESTACADA, Ore. On Sunday, the priority is to halt the progression of the fire to the west.

On Saturday as predicted, the 36 Pit Fire area was impacted with unfavorable firefighting weather. Firefighters were faced with a major wind event of high winds from the east gusting to 40 mph. Dry relative humidity and temperatures in the mid-80s also accompanied the winds.
