One Man Dead After Hit by Train

(SALEM, Ore) — At about 2:45 Thursday afternoon, a southbound Amtrak train struck a pedestrian at the crossing in the 1300 block of Sunnyview Rd NE.

Salem police and fire units responded and confirmed that the pedestrian, an adult male, had been killed.

The crossing at Sunnyview is currently closed while authorities investigate the incident.
