— The City of Salem has hired Norman Wright to serve as the City's new Community Development Director. He will begin work on October 2nd.

Wright is currently serving as the Director of Community and Economic Development for Adams County, Colorado, which covers the Denver metropolitan area and its population of 500,000.

He has also held planning and development positions in Tennessee and South Carolina. He holds a Master's in City and Regional Planning from Clemson University.

"His experience, accomplishments, and skills in overseeing complex departments, projects and improvements show that he will be a valuable addition to the city's leadership team," says City Manager Steve Powers.

The Community Development Director position was previously held by Glenn Gross, who retired last April. Assistant Director of Community Development, Lisa Anderson-Ogilvie, has served as Interim Director in his absence.
