— The City of Salem says that the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch that includes the Salem Area.

Minor flooding exists in many flood prone areas. Additional rain or snow is expected later today and tonight.

Public Works staff are monitoring conditions and are prepared to respond as needed.

Free sand and sandbags are available at three locations:

West Salem: Park & Ride, Wallace Road NW and Brush College Road NW

South Salem: Public Works Operations, 1420 20th Street SE

East Salem: Lowe's, 1930 Turner Road SE
