Deputies on Scene of Serious Injury Crash

You should avoid the area as the intersection will be closed for hours

UPDATE: Last night, at about 11:55 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Quinaby Road NE and River Road N near Keizer.

The initial investigation shows that Juan Velazquez, age 22, of Salem was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on River Road.

At the same time Alfonso Acosta-Acosta, age 20, of Keizer was driving his blue, 1997, Acura westbound on Quinaby Road NE.

At the intersection of the two roads the vehicles collided sending both men to the hospital.

Since the time of the crash Mr. Acosta-Acosta has been treated and released and Mr.

Velazquez has been transferred from Salem Hospital to OHSU with what deputies are calling critical injuries.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation and additional details will be released as soon as they become available.

The location of the crash has been cleared and all roads have been reopened.

Origanal Story: Currently, Marion County Deputies are on scene of a serious injury crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Quinaby Road NE and River Road N, near Keizer.

The driver of the passenger car and motorcycle rider have been taken to the Salem Hospital.

Very few details regarding this incident are currently available.

The Marion County Traffic Safety Team's CRASH unit is headed to the scene to assist in the investigation.

Deputies expect the intersection will be closed for the next several hours and motorists should seek alternate routes.
