Residents Invited to Review West Salem Business District Options

The West Salem Business District development concepts and transportation options are part of a 20 year Action Plan

November 2, 2014, 3:27 pm

— Residents are invited to attend a West Salem Business District Open House at Roth's in West Salem on Wed., Nov. 12, 2014, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

The open house is an opportunity to review draft development concepts and transportation options for the commercial, retail, and employment areas of West Salem, including Wallace Road, Glen Creek Road, and Edgewater Street.

The West Salem Business District development concepts and transportation options are part of a 20 year Action Plan (Action Plan) designed to address key transportation challenges and plan for future development in West Salem.

Salem's Urban Renewal Agency anticipates that Action Plan recommendations will help revitalize portions of the Business District and encourage private investment in the commercial and industrial areas of the West Salem Urban Renewal Area.

Once adopted, the Action Plan will help guide public investments in the Urban Renewal Area.

Stakeholder Advisory and Technical Advisory Committees have been formed and will meet Nov. 5 to provide feedback.

Initial findings from participant feedback will be shared with the Urban Renewal Agency in early 2015.
