Salem Police Canine Missing in West Salem

(SALEM, Ore) — A Salem Police Department Narcotics Detection Canine is missing in West Salem.

The canine, Rex, escaped from his handler's residence and was last seen near West Salem High School at about 1:30 pm this afternoon.

Rex is a 4-year old German Shepard, about 85 lbs and his right ear does not stand up fully.

Rex is very friendly to people and other animals and is approachable.

Anyone with information as to Rex's whereabouts is asked to call the Salem Police Department and they will send an officer to retrieve him.
