Man Critically Injured in Evening Crash

(SILVERTON, Ore) — The Marion County Sheriff Office say that tonight at about 5:30 p.m., deputies were called to the area of Silverton Road NE and Desart Road NE on what witnesses reported as a motorcycle versus truck crash.

Deputies now know that a motorcycle was traveling east on Silverton Road and struck a west bound Chevrolet pickup truck after the truck attempted to turn onto Desart Road.

Witnesses told deputies that the motorcyclist was riding without any lights on and passing vehicles.

The motorcyclist was taken to Silverton Hospital and later LifeFlighted to Legacy Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
