Extra Patrols For The Holiday Week

— The Marion County Sheriff's Office says that it is adding extra DUII patrols to our roadways over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Starting November 23rd and ending November 26th, your deputy sheriff's will be working extra hours to detect and arrest intoxicated drivers enhancing the safety of our resident and vacationing motorists, said the MCSO. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2015, 6 pm on Wednesday, November 25, to 5:59 am on Monday, November 30, there were 301 passenger vehicle occupants killed in traffic crashes across the nation. The Marion County Sheriff asks us all to please drink responsibly. That means if you have even one drink, do not drive.
