(SALEM, Ore) — The City of Salem invites the public to provide comments on the City's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Annual Report and Stormwater Retrofit Plan.
The Annual Report and Retrofit Plan are a requirement of the City's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) MS4 Permit.
The NPDES MS4 Permit requires the City to implement an approved Stormwater Management Plan and report annually on the status of that plan, as well as on the progress made toward specific permit deliverables.
The City's Retrofit Plan includes a strategy for identifying and prioritizing projects that incorporate stormwater quality treatment into the existing stormwater infrastructure.
The Annual Report provides an update on the status of stormwater-related activities completed during Fiscal Year 2013-14.
The MS4 Permit, Annual Report, Stormwater Retrofit Plan, and Stormwater Management Plan can be found on the City's website at: http://www.cityofsalem.net/Departments/PublicWorks/Operations/StormwaterServices/Pages/default.aspx.
The Annual Report and Retrofit Plan are open for a 14-day public comment period, beginning October 8, 2014, at 5 p.m., and closing October 22, 2014, at 5 p.m.
Comments will only be received in writing and may be submitted to Heather Dimke by email at hdimke@cityofsalem.net, or submitted by fax to 503 588 6480.
