Members of the Keizer Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.), the Oregon Department of Justice, the Marion County District Attorney's Office and investigators from several other local law enforcement agencies continue to actively investigate the disappearance of Cynthia Martinez.
On Tuesday evening at the Fire District Board meeting, the motion was passed to ask the citizens of Keizer for a small increase in their taxes to better serve them. Fire Chief Jeff Cowan said, "We do the best to maintain our equipment and keep it in good working order, but time and wear are against us.
Late this afternoon a fire broke out in a home in the Kennedy Meadows Mobile Home Park. The fire quickly spread to a neighboring home. Both homes have severe damage.

Back on November 30, 2014, Salem Police Detectives arrested 39-year old Arthur Nigel Chavez of Salem on five counts of Rape in the Second Degree and one count of Sodomy in the First Degree. Police tell us that the charges stem from inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile female who was known to him.
UPDATE: Last night, at about 11:55 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Quinaby Road NE and River Road N near Keizer. At the same time Alfonso Acosta-Acosta, age 20, of Keizer was driving his blue, 1997, Acura westbound on Quinaby Road NE. At the intersection of the two roads the vehicles collided sending both men to the hospital.
In June, 2014, the Keizer Police Department received a report from a citizen alleging Jarrod Wells, who lives at 1922 Saundra Lee Way NE in Keizer, Oregon, was selling methamphetamine from his home. This complaint was assigned to the Community Response Unit (CRU) and an investigation was begun.

The States Organization for Boating Access (SOBA) presented the City of Keizer a Mid-Size Access Award for the new Keizer Rapids Boating Facility on the Willamette River during their annual conference held in Arkansas during the week of October 13.
Only one such award is given each year.
