Hay Truck Fire Closes Road in McMinnville

(McMinnville, Ore.) — Yesterday the McMinnville Fire Department received the report of a large hay truck fire on Hill Road near Peavine.

Upon arrival units found the truck blocking Hill Road and the truck and trailer fully involved .

Some of the hay had fallen off of the trailer and truck into the adjoining hedge rows on either side of the street. The owner of the truck was Turley farms.

Fifteen units including firefighters from McMinnville, Amity, Carlton and ODF fought the fire and were on scene until 1:23 of this morning.

Amity Fire Department provided fire coverage while McMinnville crews were on scene well into the next morning to assist in overhaul and road clearing.
