OSU Student Arrested For Child Pornography

— Linn County Sheriff's  detectives served a search warrant at an Oregon State University dormitory following an investigation of child pornography.

Philipp Jean Bardenheier, a 19-year old Environmental Engineering student from California, is a resident at Buxton Hall Dormitory.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse I by disseminating child pornography from his computer.

The investigation revealed Bardenheier shared child pornography to a computer in Linn County, which is why Linn County Sheriff got involved.

During an interview with detectives, Bardenheier admitted to possessing child pornography and to using the Internet to download and share child pornography.

Oregon State University, Oregon State Police, and the Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search warrant.

Numerous computers and electronic devices were seized and are being forensically examined by the Linn County Sheriff's Office Digital Forensics Laboratory.

The The sheriff's office tells us that the investigation is continuing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
