Oregon Man Arrested in Washington for Driving 122 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone

Washougal Police were able to point their speed measuring device towards the vehicle to obtain an accurate speed.

Police in Washougal, Washington arrested 66-year-old Robert Warren Carlson of Portland, Oregon, after the BMW he was driving was spotted by Washougal Police passing vehicles on SR-14 at a high rate of speed.

— Police in Washougal, Washington arrested 66-year-old Robert Warren Carlson of Portland, Oregon, after the BMW he was driving was spotted by Washougal Police passing vehicles on SR-14 at a high rate of speed.

Washougal Police were able to point their speed measuring device towards the vehicle to obtain an accurate speed.

The digital display on the radar unit indicated the BMW was actually traveling at 122 mph. The posted speed limit on SR-14 in Washougal is 55 mph.

The vehicle was stopped, and Carlson was taken into custody on charges of Reckless Driving, and booked into the Clark County Jail.

His BMW was impounded, and towed from the scene.
