Wildfire Burning Near Corvallis Leads to Mandatory Evacuations

Corvallis Police say an uncontained wildfire in the north Corvallis area has led them to issue a mandatory evacuation order for an area in the northern portion of Corvallis and Benton County.

— Corvallis Police say an uncontained wildfire in the north Corvallis area has led them to issue a mandatory evacuation order for an area in the northern portion of Corvallis and Benton County.

As of 10:45 p.m. Mandatory Evacuations are issued for:

All residents east of NW 29th St. to NW Century Dr. and north of NW Walnut Blvd. to NW Crescent Valley Dr.

Residents east of NW Century Dr. to NW Highland Dr., north of NW Walnut Blvd. are under a level 2 evacuation notice, meaning residents need to be prepared to leave in a moment's notice.

At this point police say, the fire in zero percent contained, and high winds and terrain are making suppression efforts difficult.

There is no information at this time regarding a cause, injuries or property damage.
