This morning, at approximately 3:00 AM the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 243 southbound in Marion County. The Oregon State Police was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's office, Jefferson Fire District and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Today, the Elections Division issued the official administrative rule setting the timeline for a January 23, 2018 election on Referendum 301. An election will only be held if petitioners turn in at least 58,789 verified signatures by October 5, 2017. However, the uniquely compressed calendar for this special election requires work to begin in September.

However, local and regional fire restrictions are still in effect in many state parks, and restrictions from other authorities often apply to state parks as well. Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings only. All fires must be attended, and fully extinguished afterward.

Today at approximately 2:00 PM, Oregon State Police and emergency workers responded to report of a deceased female off highway 18 near the exit 25 overpass (Fort Hill). The female has been identified as Dayleen Kay Crowder (age 52) from Grand Ronde.


ODFW Test-Drops Larger Trout in Eagle Cap Mountain Lakes
