The Salem Police Department is seeking the community’s help in locating these wanted subjects. If you see any of these subjects, call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to apprehend these persons. Two of the current most wanted have been apprehended. Call 9-1-1 if you see one of these subjects.

The Volunteers From Aumsville Fire Worked Three Multi Alarm Fires in 24 Hours

Following a long Saturday night assisting Stayton Fire with a 3rd-alarm wildland fire on Fir Grove Lane SE, the Volunteers Fire Fighters of Aumsville Fire District responded to two multiple-alarm fires on Sunday. Making this a busy weekend for these Men and Women. Thanks to them!

Corvallis Mountain Rescue Locates Missing Hiker
(September 9, 2017, 8:55 pm) SALEM, Ore.

Tonight around 5:30 p.m., searchers with Corvallis Mountain Rescue found missing hiker Daniel Moung. He was located down a steep embankment, approximately one mile from his camp which was located earlier along the Elk Horn Ridge Trail.

Marion County Search and Rescue Team Deployed for Lost Hiker
(September 9, 2017, 3:45 pm) SALEM, Ore.

Searchers with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Corvallis Mountain Rescue Team, Polk County Sheriff's Office and the Army Air National Guard have been on scene and searching through the night for missing hiker Daniel Moung. Searchers are concerned as Mr. Moung has a form of autism and diabetes which requires medication.


Eagle Creek Fire Evacuation Level Changes

Due to increased fire activity on the east end of the fire, the Hood River County Sheriff's Office is making two changes to evacuation levels. Level One means people should be ready for potential evacuation. Level Two means that people should be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

Due to the extreme risk of fire, fire danger, lack of resources to fight additional fires and in the interest of public safety, the County Forest Manager recommended the closure of all Hood River County Forestland, Forest Roads, and Forest Trails to all recreational use until further notice.

Eagle Creek Fire Investigators Seeking Public's Assistance

The suspect has been identified as a fifteen year old male from Vancouver, Washington using fireworks. The American Red Cross more than 250 people at two shelters in the area. Evacuation orders have been issued for many areas.

Linn County Investigating Fatal Crash on Old Salem Road
(September 5, 2017, 3:55 pm) ALBANY, Ore.

The crash was caused when a 1978 Chevrolet El Camino, operated by Grant Thomas Hromas, 50-yrs-old of Albany, left the south bound lane of travel and crossed completely over to the north bound lane of travel. This caused a nearly head on crash with a 2013 Hyundia Elantra sedan.

Jefferson Man Dies in Single Car Crash
(September 4, 2017, 9:58 pm) ALBANY, Ore.

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his deputies are investigating a fatal, motor vehicle crash. The single-vehicle crash occurred today on Century Drive near Viewcrest Road, Albany. The crash was reported to the Linn County Sheriff's Office 9-1-1 Center at 3:48 p.m.

Fiery Crash Sends Man to Hospital
(September 1, 2017, 1:57 pm) SALEM, Ore

A fiery crash on I-5 in Albany just after midnight sent one man to a Portland hospital. A passing motorist stopped and helped pull the driver from the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames.   I-5 northbound was closed until the fire could be extinguished

Car Crash Leads to Suspicious Death Investigation
Salem Police Detectives are asking for assistance

The death of a driver, Randy Breyer, was not caused by the crash, and this case is being investigated as a suspicious death. The deceased was reportedly driving southbound on 12th St SE before crashing into the bridge abutment south of Bellevue St SE. Salem Police Detectives are asking for assistance.

Life Jacket Loaner Station
City of Salem Announces Life Jacket Loaner Program
Program will promote water safety on the Willamette River.

A temporary station has been placed in Wallace Marine Park near the public swimming area. The City's Public Works Department with assistance from the Oregon Department of Corrections will be installing two permanent Life Jacket Loaner Stations in the next month. One located in the swimming area of Wallace Marine Park and the other located near the boat launch in Wallace Marine Park.

FBI and Marion County Sheriff Seek Wells Fargo Bank Robber

The FBI and Marion County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public’s help to identify a bank robber. The robbery occurred Thursday evening just after 5pm. The target of the robbery was a Wells Fargo inside the Safeway in the 3300 block of Lancaster.
